Mary A. Windsor

April 8, 1928 ~ February 3, 2021 (age 92)

Mary Agnes (Heisler) Windsor, 92, of Pilot Grove, passed peacefully into the arms of God, surrounded by her family, on February 3, 2021 at Katy Manor.

Mary was born April 8, 1928 at home in Prairie Home, MO on Easter morning. She was the daughter of Herman and Anne Lula (Franken) Heisler.

The death of Mary’s second husband in 1967 left her a single parent of six children. She was strong, hardworking, and a dedicated mother. She was witty and always made people laugh. She loved being around her grandchildren and spending time with family. She would always have stories to tell of her younger days growing up on the farm. She loved to tell tales about her running through the fields barefoot and about her mother’s favorite hen. Mary loved red roses, collecting angels, sewing, embroidering, word searches, crossword puzzles and most of all she loved reading. She instilled the love of reading in her children at an early age.

Mary married Grovner “GD” Windsor on September 24, 2004. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2014.

Survivors include one sister- Rose Ann Weber of Glasgow, MO; Mary’s daughters- Phyllis (David) Faucette of Kewanee, IL, Donna (David) Lorenz of Pilot Grove, MO, and Doris (Tom) McMillan of Boonville, MO; her son- Leonard (Kim) Bader of Nelson, MO; her 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters- Elaine Pyles, Pauline Baker, Helen Fredrick, Edna Andrews, and Marceline (in infancy); five brothers- Andy Franken, Herman Heisler, Jerry Heisler, Raymond Heisler and Lawrence Vince “LV” Heisler (in infancy); her infant son- Dorsey Ray; daughter, Stella Johnson; son, David Beaman; and infant grandson- Marvin.

A private burial will be held at a later date in Pilot Grove City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Katy Manor library fund.

Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
